The sparrows are throwing the bluebirds eggs and babies out of the nesting box. How do you stop that?
I would also like to know more about bluebirds. I live on eastern Long Island,; unfortunately, I have never even seen a bluebird.

I love the banter between you two! Sander used all the arguments I would have used, just to tease Summer, but I most definitely would want to wear the waders in all but the warmest months!

Have never heard of a floating duck box - love it. You both look very cute in your pond outfits. Looking forward to the bird house cams. Isn't spring wonderful?!
They aren't unusual in Britain but they really became well known when an MP claimed £1600+ for a duck house on his expenses! It set off a whole investigation into what our glorious representatives asked the taxpayers to pay for, and several MPs were voted out next opportunity, many had to reimburse the government, some even went to prison, if memory serves.
There's a lot to be said for floating duck houses!

Suggest cedar wood for bird houses, natural insect repellent, wood lasts forever, birds don't like painted bird houses due to the smell and off gassing.

Awww, it's all coming together. The pond even looks better, with that little jewel (duck house) in it. The overalls will be extremely heavy, if water ever 🌊schwapps over the side. Don't 'swim' alone. I think that it was a great purchase. Water, in which water fowl live, can be irritating to the skin. (my experience).Did you see the eclipse? 🌞🌚🌎

Okay, very good intentions to help wildlife.
Adding a dividing wall inside the floating duck house ... if the maker did not make it with that wall, I think there is a reason. Maybe duck mothers don't like to be so close to their neighbours? Maybe they like having two 'entrances' (or one entrance and one escape door)? I tried to find the information with google but did not find it ...
please do a diy tutorial on bird house design/style with info on different size holes for specific type birds.
